Before studying art, I was a Russian interpreter, a journeyman carpenter and Humane Society worker. My BFA from Boston University is in sculpture. I spent endless hours in Boston's many museums and special collections, such as the drawing collection at the Fogg Museum.   Since leaving art school, I've spent time as a restaurant designer and a house-husband. Now I am ejoying all my time as an artist. I have studied with lots of artists over the years, some of them famous. The ones I like best are Donna Howell-Sickles, Sally Strand,  Philip Guston and Harold Tovish. I now work and live in Washington and continue to show locally and in national shows.

I am a signiture member of the Northwest Pastel Society,  and I belong to the National Sculpture Society, the Southern California Artists Association, the Olympia Art League, and Arts Olympia.   I teach locally and try to facilitate figure drawing sessions wherever I can.
